The perfect gift: what I really want for my birthday
/The perfect gift is something that makes me feel.
Since my early teens, I’ve wished for an experience for my birthday. Give me something that makes me laugh, enjoy, feel and create memories for life! give me something that makes me grow, and us too. Give me an experience.
Nowadays, when we getting closer to June 4th, the routine is the same:
Orion: What'd you want for your birthday mommy?
Me: go to the ocean!
Orion: Duh, you say that every year!
But he’s smiling with his whole face and I know he wants it too. So we go.
We go into that perfect gift of feeling the cold winds in our hair, smelling the strong seaweeds, and dip our feet in the freezing Swedish ocean. (Then we usually have cake in the sand and get sand between our teeth, cause duh you gotta have some cake!)
You know what accompanies the perfect gift?
A thought through card.
I love it when my kids make their own cards. I make my own cards too. Drawn and written by hand. In fact, my Goddess of Trinity Greeting card is painted by hand, by me. I used watercolors (cause I love the feeling of the ocean, remember). The card also has a poem inside: Sacred Woman (of trinity).
